What to do
- Taking a free walking tour on Gamla Stan or in the City Center (schedules on the links). There are 2 different companies: http://www.stockholmfreetour.com/ , http://freetourstockholm.com/
- Visit Monteliusvägen. The best place to take pictures of the city and to enjoy a sunset. There is a good park for picnics next to it (Ivar Los Park). https://goo.gl/maps/9Acs1jHGrwP2
- Go to Gröna Lund. An amusement park with great views over the city. I recommend going there by boat. You can use your SL for the boat. Take the subway to slussen, exit towards the boat signs in gamla stan. https://goo.gl/maps/YBVzxe1DVqT2
- Visit the Royal Palace: You’ll see it from everywhere. Though I only recommend going inside if you are staying for several days and want to know more about Swedish history. https://goo.gl/maps/o7sCrXXwohJ2
- Visit the Drottningholm Palace. Where the royal family lives. They’re the first not living in the Royal palace. The palace is similar to Versailles. Only recommend if you are staying for several days. Nice on a sunny day though. https://goo.gl/maps/mDGHvn1jZn92
- Go to the Stockholm public library. Very pretty library from the inside. Wouldn’t go there on purpose unless you love libraries but it is worth visiting if you’re near the area (Vasastan). https://goo.gl/maps/W8oHFv3mgGF2
- Visit the Stockholm City hall. Place where the nobel party is hosted. Has tours to visit the building and a nice tower with good views over the city. https://goo.gl/maps/yRQDgkU1qvj
- Enjoy the Kungsträdgården. A garden in the center. Many events here and worth going to in the cherry blossom season. https://goo.gl/maps/Qa7qPC3WHGG2
